Let’s Compare Steak ‘n Shake & Shake Shack

Tysons Corner Center, VA

This place is definitely modern. This is the first fast food restaurant I’ve been to where they give you buzzers that alert you when your meal is ready for pickup. I felt fancy drinking their triple filtered water. These burgers melt in your mouth. Shake Shack uses cage-free eggs, non-GMO potato rolls and freshly ground 100% Angus beef.

Every Shack even recycles all their bottles and plastics. They even have options for your puppy!

I had the s’mores shake and it was delicious! Steak ‘n Shake isn’t modern like Shake Shake. It’s a hybrid of fast-food to-go service and diner-style sit-down service. I found it pretty neat that it was open 24/7. The burgers were delicious, but their milkshakes were better. I liked the fact that you were greeted by a hostess when you first walk in, they sit you at a booth, and take your order.

Comparing the Steak ‘n Shake & Shake Shack

Steak ‘n Shake has cheaper options. Lunch for 2 came out to $21 at Steak ‘n Shake compared to $29 at Shake Shack. Steak ‘n Shake’s burgers came with french fries and Shake Shack’s did not.

There is no doubt that Steak ‘n Shake has better milkshakes. The flavors are endless and they’re served in a cold milkshake glass.

This decision was tough. Both places had delicious burgers, but I’ll have to say that Shake Shake had better burgers.

French Fries:

Both places had wins in this category. Steak ‘n Shake has better crispier fries, but Shake Shake’s loaded french fries were delicious! Both french fries are good depending on what you are craving.

I prefer Steak ‘n Shake ambiance because of the 24-hour diner feeling. It’s cool that Shake Shack is modern, but I prefer having a waitress versus being given a buzzer that notifies me when my food is ready.

Both places were good, but I prefer Steak ‘n Shake because they have cheaper options, delicious food, and an old diner ambiance.
